In poetry, too, it is urgent to safeguard the reason for the “to come,” beyond any reason. To oppose any totalizing pupil with the vision of a “here and now,” even if (for that pupil) it is not yet visible.

This is how what is no longer and can no longer be literature survives, due to the sense of rape and the arrogance of its technicians. (Mediocrity does not want to leave its barracks).

Is there a Republic of Letters? Or just clans of writers resisting, sustaining the war of jackals of vernacular literatures at the borders?

Is there a Republic of Letters or only hordes of intellectuals, some opposed to each other, others devoted to collaterality?

Is there a Republic of Letters or better-organized ruling groups contending against neighboring tribes in perpetual disarray?

Is there a Republic of Letters, or are there groups that hoard information (gnoseological material) and set themselves up as thinking heads, controllers of aesthetic duty?

Execrated by history, writers (here and there) affiliate themselves in small groups of deprecation.
